| Access Need | Recommended Credential | Why It Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Modern, security focused access | MIFARE DESFire | Supports modern cryptography, secure authentication, and multi-application use for contactless access. |
| Modern HID environment | HID Seos | Provides modern credential security with mutual authentication and a flexible path for evolving HID environments. |
| Existing HID iCLASS environment | HID iCLASS / Seos + iCLASS | Maintains compatibility with established iCLASS readers while supporting phased migration to Seos. |
| Existing MIFARE Classic Environment | MIFARE Classic | Supports compatible existing deployments where MIFARE Classic infrastructure remains in use. |
| Existing HID proximity environment | HID Proximity / Seos + Prox | Maintains legacy Proximity compatibility while enabling gradual migration to newer HID credential technology. |
| Long-range vehicle access | UHF Credential | Enables convenient vehicle identification at compatible long-range RFID readers. |
| Door + vehicle access | ASSA Dual | Combines compatible HF smart-card access with UHF technology so one credential can support both door and vehicle access. |
| Credential Technology | Credential Type | Key Capability | Best Suited For |
|---|---|---|---|
| MIFARE DESFire | Contactless smart card | Secure authentication, protected data communication, and flexible multi-application architecture. Capabilities vary by DESFire generation and configuration. | Security-focused access control and applications requiring a modern, flexible smart-card platform. |
| MIFARE Classic | Contactless smart card | Established MIFARE technology that maintains compatibility with existing Classic reader environments. | Existing MIFARE Classic installations and legacy credential estates. |
| HID Seos | Contactless smart card | Modern cryptography, mutual authentication, secure messaging, SIO-based identity protection, and multi-application support. | Modern HID deployments and organisations moving toward newer HID credential technology. |
| HID iCLASS SE | Contactless smart card | SIO-enabled identity protection with mutual authentication, encrypted data transfer, and support for multiple application areas. | Existing iCLASS SE environments and SIO-enabled HID deployments. |
| HID iCLASS | Contactless smart card | Established read/write smart-card technology with mutual authentication and encrypted data transfer. | Existing iCLASS installations where compatibility with the installed reader estate is required. |
| HID Proximity | Proximity RFID credential | Established proximity credential technology for compatible HID Prox readers. | Existing HID Proximity installations and legacy access environments. |
| UHF Credentials | Long-range RFID credential | Enables credential identification from greater distances when used with compatible UHF readers. | Vehicle gates, parking, logistics entrances, and other long-range access applications. |
| ASSA Dual | Dual-technology smart card | Combines HF MIFARE/DESFire and UHF technologies within one credential. | Deployments that need compatible door access and long-range vehicle identification on one card. |
IDCUBE supports 13.56 MHz HF RFID smart cards, including MIFARE DESFire, MIFARE Classic, HID Seos and HID iCLASS. The portfolio also includes compatible 125 kHz HID Proximity and UHF RFID credentials for legacy and long-range applications.
Combine electronic encoding with visual identification. Supported issuance configurations encode MIFARE DESFire and HID iCLASS/Seos credentials while adding names, photographs, identifiers and branding to printable cards.
Carry more than one credential technology in a single card. HID migration cards combine Seos with iCLASS and/or Proximity, while IDCUBE ASSA Dual combines HF MIFARE/DESFire with UHF RFID.
Choose a format suited to each user and environment. Supported product families include printable ISO cards, durable clamshell cards, key fobs, adhesive tags and dual-technology cards.
MIFARE DESFire and HID Seos provide multi-application capability, allowing separate approved applications to use the same card platform when the selected credential and system architecture support it.
Connect each physical credential to an authorised user. Access360 associates supported access control smart cards with individual identities, permissions and access profiles for centralised administration.
