Access control management for banking & finance
A bank operates through branches, teller counters, cash rooms, ATMs, and currency vaults, each carrying a different level of risk. A branch lobby needs smooth and fast entry, while a vault needs strict and verified access.
IDCUBE’s Access Master lets institutions define custom access policies for each zone based on employee roles, branch hierarchy, shift patterns, and security levels—all managed from a centralized control room.
Role-Based Access Control is a security method that restricts entry to physical spaces based on an employee’s existing job role. It prevents unauthorized access and secures sensitive information.
- Use Case: A loan officer role is granted access to the credit file room to review sensitive applicant loan documents, whereas a vault custodian role is restricted to the ATM cash loading room.
Biometric verification uses unique physical traits like faces and fingerprints to confirm an employee’s identity. This creates an unshareable security layer that protects high-risk areas from theft and badge sharing.
- Use Case: A cash officer entering a currency counting room must pass a face match alongside their badge scan. If their card is lost or stolen, any unauthorized person attempting to use it is restricted at the door.
Requires two authorized employees to present credentials within a set time window before a vault or currency chest opens, and both identities are logged.
- Use Case: For routine end-of-day cash consolidation, the vault opens only when both the cash officer and branch manager verify their identities.
